My father, adopted name William Robert Clarke aka Bob. date of birth 06 July 1923. Date of adoption May 1927. Lived in the East End of London. Adoptive mother Beatrice, father William Clarke. No known siblings. Mother old enough to be his grandmother when he was adopted. Nothing known about adoptive father except was a night watchman. He died before WW2. My father was a runner for the Mile End Fire Service when he was about 16. I only realised my father had been adopted after he died in 1999. I had no connection with his family and no one to talk to about it. Would love to communicate with them to find out more about them.
