My dad was adopted. His birth name was Richard Martin. The adoption was through Steuben County in approx. 1949. I am wondering who his parents were. They would be my birth grandparents. We just found out that he was adopted after both of his adoptive parents had passed. His birth mom had dark, curly hair. We don't know much about his birth father. We don't know if the last name Martin came from his birth mom or birth dad. We don't know if they were together or not. On the adoption information it says the "alleged father." The birth mom might have been born around 1929 or so. My dad has lived in Hornell, NY his whole life.
