I am searching on behalf of my husband and his children, I am searching for his oldest son whom was adopted out in the early 70's, possibly 1972 or 1973, his surname or birthname was Gerald Adkins, he was born to Allen Leroy Adkins and Donna Jean Berhager, his birthname was Gerald Adkins, he was born in Georgia, possibly the northern part of that state. My husband, the birthfather memory fails him as to where they lived exaclty at in Georgia. He is terrible with birth dates. The mother Donna, says she can't remember, but she is afraid to find him. His siblings would love to meet him if we can ever find him. He has one full brother and one full sister, and he has four half siblings. It is a sad story. I am sure as many are. The parents weren't married when he was born, the were living together then seperated and the father left for a little while to go to Kansas and then he went back shortly and found that she had put him up for adoption possibly thru welfare or social services. I am not sure. This going to be difficult oto locate him for I have so little information about him. He was not aware that she was going to do this. For he loves all of his children and would never do that. He lost contact with the two siblings of the adoptee and I found them through the 'people site" website but I have posted on there too and have no responses. I cannot afford to pay for services for someone to help me in my search. I even wrote to the Georgia Adoption Registry and that didn't get me any results eithe. So, at this point in time I may never find him. His birthmother is in poor health so I would like to find him not only for that reason but so the family will be complet if he is interested in meeting them, we are all kind of afraid but that is natural in these cases, we dont want to interfer with his life but we would like to meet him someday. I just don't know how I can get anywhere with so little information.
