I am looking for my father, Celio Barreto. He worked for Phillips Electronics in Brazil when I lived there. My birth name was Rozely Sales Barreto, Born in Rio de Janeiro, May 15, 1965. Birth mother, Rozana Sales de Andrade. I was raised by Mercedes Oliveira Mitchell in Rio until I was 9 years old. She died in 1974, right before we moved to the United States. She remains "mom" in my heart & memory to this day. While with her, I was adopted by Robert Atkinson, (who had married her only biological daughter, Deborah Mitchell) in 1971 or 1972 & my name became Rozely Mitchell Atkinson. Robert was in the United States Military, so we moved to the U.S. in 1974. My father, Celio, tried to stay in contact via letters & phone calls but we lost contact early on in my stay in the U.S. due to unfortunate family circumstances. He adopted me to Robert of his own free will so that I would have a better life with a family here, in the United States. I loved my father, Celio, very much & remember him fondly & would so appreciate any information. The only information I have is his name & that he was an electronics technician. He was white, of medium height, dark hair. I do have his Identity card registration number from the adoption papers & his last known street address which does not list the city where he lived; I do not want to list this information on a website, of course. I have no idea what happened to my biological mother, (Rozana Sales de Andrade). I am not able to go to Brazil right now. Any information or guidance on how to get information about him would be sincerely appreciated. The attached photo is of my husband, my son, my daughter, & I (last one on the right).
