His mother was a country girl who was sent away to Berry Street for confinement. She had to do domestic duties in return for her keep there. When Terence was born he was taken from her. She wasn't even allowed to hold him. The circumstances were dictated by her parents. She never forgot him and often thought of seeking out information but the laws and restrictions made this too difficult. |
