Looking for info about the parents of Melinda and Mary Amos who were born in the early 1830's, most likely in Illinois. Their mother's first name was Nancy and their birth father's last name was Amos. They were very young children when their mother married Thomas Rhoden. They had one child, Nancy Rhoden, born in 1833. This family lived on the banks of the Ohio River in the America area. Melinda married three times--Abraham Bever, Joseph Keem and John Roulette who was my great grandfather. Melinda had 6 children by Mr. Bever, 1 by Mr. Keem who apparently died in infancy, and twin sons by Mr. Roulette. Melinda died in 1872 when the twins were only 5 years old. Her daughter Mary Alice Bever Lewis and her husband raised the twins as well as the minor Bever children. Mary was married twice--first to Mr. Holmes and second to Mr. Buffington. Nancy Rhoden married Joseph Edwards. | |||||||||||||||||||||
