Well, I have to say thank you all to the many search angels who've helped my on this journey. It's not over yet, but today I received more information than i ever thought possible. Apparently a woman at the Wyandotte County Kansas Vital records office is giving out incorrect info.she's telling people, as she told me that adoption records are sealed in Kansas...they are not. Minutes after being told that very thing by her I mailed a requst form to the State records office in Topeke KS, and today I received a packet containing my adoption decree and all other pertinent records pertaining to my adoption. According to those records Joann Taylor who resided at 1702 Lake Av in 1957 was indeed my birth mother, and though she has not yet named my father, as I hope she will one day. I do know that she named me after him. My name is apparently Douglas Taylor. Isn't that cool? To find out your name at 50? Thank you search angels! Maybe one day I can find a way to get Daddy's name out of JoAnn.
