My late brother had a son, actually this child's adoption was the reason my brother was murdered. He will be 18 in a year. The child was a boy, born Jan 31, 1991, near Philadelphia, PA. His mother, Lydia Simcox, was 20 when she had him. My brother was Alfred Jerry Willis Jr, born 8/18/72, died 2/13/91. Lydia, known as "Lee", led Jerry to believe they were going to keep the child. When Lee came back to NJ w/o the baby, it was discovered that she sold the child to a couple out of Cockneysville, MD. Lee's mother, Debbie, did not want Jerry to interfer because she and Lee had received money and a car for the child. When Jerry confronted them about the illegal adoption, Debbie shot Jerry and killed him. Debbie, at that time and unbeknownst to all of us, was a testifying in an upcoming international drug trafficking trial. The gov't opted to to press charges against Debbie for Jerry's murder or assist in the location of the child that Lee had illegally sold. We had hired a PI, found the lawyer who handled the "adoption" in MD. The attorney said that the family that had Jerry's son did not wish to be contacted and we left it at that. My mother died 2 years ago, always wanting to see Jerry's son.
