I'm looking for my birth mother. I was born on June 11, 1952 in Burlington VT at Bishop DesGosbrien Hospital and eventually placed in St. Joseph's Orphanage. My birth mother had a child while in highschool. She left school and I was later fathered by a different man. She reunited with the father of her first child but he insisted that I be placed for adoption.
My birth mother contributed money for my care until the adoption was finalized. I was told by my adoptive parents that she didn't want to give me up. I have several half siblings according to non-identifying information that I received a while ago. I was adopted by Nelson and Alfreda Leonard, who were living in Barton at the time. My adoptive father peeked at papers on a desk during the adoption process while a nun was out of the room and believed that my birth mother or birth father may have come from White Plains N.Y. My birth mother called me "Daniel". I was raised Catholic but she was/is a Protestant. |
