I am a biracial male who was born on October 6, 1983, in Elkhart County, Indiana, to a young mother and father who were in high school at the time. My biological father is African American and played high school football. My biological mother is Caucasian and was a cheerleader. I was made available for adoption through Catholic Social Services in South Bend, and I understand that I had a difficult birth. My birth mother and grandmother attended grief counseling for nine years at CSS after my birth. When I became available for adoption, at about five weeks, my birth grandmother mother wrote a loving letter for me to read when I was old enough to understand the circumtances of my birth. In it, you refer to me as your "little buddy." When you are ready, I would love to communicate with you personally to thank you for making a difficult but good decision about my life. I think you will be pleased with the adult I have become. I live happily in northern California, and am finishing college. Thank you for making my wonderful life possible.
