ISO of BM. Adoptee (F) born 1/8/65 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I have collected 3 different Non-Id's. There are slight variations.
I was born on 1-8-65 (time - 1615) at Salt Lake General Hospital. I was
7 lb. and 20 1/4" long. The doctor was K. G. Malan. I was adopted through the Relief Society General Board Association (now LDS Social Services). My social worker or adoption worker was Gladys Carling. I was placed with Leland K. and Colleen May
Baxter in February of 1965. The adoption attorney was Richard L.
Anderson. The official adoption took place one year later (Feb. 1966) in Salt Lake
County. I was named Julie Ann Baxter.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
BIRTH MOTHER
Physical Description: She was 24 years old, Caucasian of English, Swedish and Danish descent. She was 5'8" tall, normally weighed 135 lbs. and had reddish brown hair and hazel eyes. She listed her interests and hobbies as arts, crafts, sewing and music.
Background: She was LDS and was married for six years. The marriage ended in divorce on the grounds of mental cruelty. She had a 10th grade education and appeared to be a quiet girl who did not mix much with the general crowd, but had a pleasing personality. She was interested in getting further education, especially in the field of art, with aspirations of becoming a commercial artist some day.
Both of her parents were still living and she had one brother and one sister. They were all LDS and in good health. None of her family had more than a high school education.
She had two children from her marriage, both girls. One had hazel eyes and brown hair; the other had blue eyes and brown hair.
She had worked in restaurants and had done a little painting that she was paid for. She hoped to find some kind of employment where she could save enough money so she could go back to school.
BIRTH FATHER
Physical Description: He was 26 years old, Caucasian, 6'2" tall, 165 lbs. with brown hair, hazel eyes, and a slender build. He had a high school education and had served 2 years in the armed forces.
Background: He was married, LDS, and was employed as a truck driver. He indicated an interest in horses and crafts. He had one brother who was employed in the construction business. His mother was still living, but his father had passed away. All of his family was LDS, also.
He did not want to marry the birth mother and indicated his desires were that she place the child in a home where it would be well cared for.
CASE HISTORY
At the time the birth mother first came to the agency, she was one month away from her due date. Her pregnancy had progressed normally, according to her physician, and she had good health in every way up to the time she went to the hospital. Her physician could see nothing in the health area that would be a problem or of concern to him either in the birth of the baby or anything after its arrival.
Delivery: On 8 January 1965 the birth mother delivered a baby girl who weighed 7 lbs. and was 20 1/4" long. The birth was normal and there were no complications. When the worker visited the birth mother in the hospital later, she was very calm and showed little emotion. She indicated that she still wanted to place the baby, explaining that it would be best for her other children and she didn't want the baby to grow up without a father. It was difficult for her to make this decision alone. She was anxious to get home to her two children who were being cared for by a relative.
Several days later the worker spoke with the birth mother by phone and noted that she was getting around a little better at home and feeling "just great". She was still desirous of getting back into school and pursuing a future as a commercial artist.

She had a desire to become a commercial artist.
Your birth father was 23 years old at the time of your birth. He was Caucasian. He had a high school diploma, and was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He had been married previously but the record did not indicate whether he had any children from that marriage. He was 6'2" tall, weighed 165 pounds, brown hair, hazel eyes, and slender. He has one brother. His interests were horses and crafts, and he had been in the military for a few years.
The pregnancy progressed normally with no problems, and you were born January 8, 1965, weighing 7 pounds, 20 and 1/4 inches long, and there were no birth complications. The record commented that she made her decision to place you for adoption because she wanted you to grow up in a home where there would be a father. It looked like marriage was not desired by either one at the time.

Birth Father: The birth father wanted to place the baby in a home where it could taken care of. He said that he could not marry the birth mother and that the birth mother would not marry him because she did not have any faith or confidence in him. The birth father’s father was deceased. The birth father’s brother was a construction. He was divorced, Caucasian, LDS, had a high school diploma, was employed as a truck driver. |
