I am attempting to find the parents of Robert Duward Waltz born Nov. 26, 1917. The birth certificate shows John Waltz age 19 as the father and Mary Virginia Roberts age 20 as the mother. Both parents were factory workers in Detroit, Michigan at the time of the birth. We have an old picture of the parents but the man's name written on the back of it was George Waltz. The baby was adopted by Frank R. Roberts and his wife Lucy at three months of age. Mr. Roberts said that Mary Virginia was his sister and that she died shortly after the birth. Mr. Waltz took care of the baby until his adoption. The birth took place at Booth Memorial Hospital in Covington, Kentucky. We also know that John aka George and Mary lived in Monroe, Michigan possibly Frenchtown. I cannot find a birth or death certificate for Mary Virginia, nor a burial record or gravesite. Mr. Roberts attempted to see his father in Monroe as a young adult but his father would not see him. He did talk to his half sister. I am doing a genealogy search on our family and would like to know who his real parents are. Mr. Roberts is deceased and I'm sure his father is too. Frank and Roseline Roberts were the parents of Frank, Mary, and Gertrude. They all lived in Monroe, Michigan in the late 1800's and 1900's.
