Looking for information regarding Abigail (Abbey) Potterton, who died about 1845. She was the daughter of Mark Potterton, irish protestant, who died about 1816 -- will finalized in 1818. She inherited the property Newtonmonaghy, Parish Moyglare, County Meath, which passed to her husband James Ryan, an irish catholic when she died. James Ryan (died August 25, 1881)sent two of their children to America to be adopted around 1846. (Sarah Mary and Joseph Patrick). Looking for the name of Mark Potterton's wife, and his parent's names.
James Ryan's brother was Edward Ryan, who was married to Abigail Keogh, the daughter of John Keogh (who was the Chairman of the Catholic Committee). Edward lived at Enfield, County Meath, and then moved to Blackhall in County Kildare. Edward's son Edward George Ryan was born at Enfield in 1810 and emigrated to Wisconsin and died in 1880. Am looking for information on James and Edward Ryan's parents -- heard they were descended from the Ryan's of Ballinakill.
