I am a female adoptee born 9/25/65 in NC -- likely Catawba County(possibly Iredell) but I can't be sure of that. I am currently making use of the confidential intermediary law and searching for my birthparents. Mother was born 2/26/1951 and gave birth to me at age 14. I have confidence DSS can locate her but I just learned my biological father is deceased. My biological father was 21 or 22 when I was born and worked as a plumber at that time. He was tall, hazel eyed and dark haired. His parents worked in textiles. He was the oldest of 4 kids in 1965 and was helpful to Catawba County Department of Welfare (now DSS)during this process. If you know of a male who fathered a female child in September 1965 and placed her for adoption and may have died in 2003 in Catawba or surrounding counties I could be his daughter. I cannot be sure of the county but I do know he physically came to the Catawba Welfare Dept to discuss his history and that of his family. Any information from any member of his family would be helpful.
