I am searching for my birth mother. She is from Cherokee, NC. She gave me a yellow sweater and hat, which I still have. My son came home from the hospital in it last year. She is Native American and Irish. I believe my birth grandmother is full Cherokee. My biological father is African American and was killed in prison during my first year of life. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri April 22, 1980 at Lakeside Hospital. My adoption was handled by Highland Child Placement Agency. The agency reported that my birth mother had a hard time giving me up and went to court twice before she could do it.
