I am an adopted child whose birth mother died in 1970. Her name was Bernadette Kell who had a sister Marlene. I am lead to believe that their mother was Gwen Laird and the two girls were fostered into a Catholic home for orphans before Gwen met and married Bill Kell. Gwen and Bill lived on a farm at Awhitu on the south side of the Manukau Harbour Auckland and had two boys, Kevin and Brendan. Gwen had a brother who lived in Australia.
