Surname(s):

HENDRICK : MIKOLON : MORIARITY : MORIARTY

Query Text:

I am looking for my birth sister and mother. I was born in Mineola/Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y. on August 24th, 1960. My mother's name was Moriarty and I still have the bracelet from the hospital that reads 'baby Moriarty". I believe my sister's name is Maria. My mother was from Ireland and working as a "domestic" or a maid. She interviewed my parents before placing me with them. My father's identity is also unknown, but it was told he was a soldier at Mitchell Field Airforce Base in Long Island. My mother had a tumor blocking her birth canal and I was born C-section. She also was rumored to have had a hysterectomy; so I was most likely the last child she had. It was thought my mother moved upstate New York after I was born. She did not want to know if I was a boy or a girl. I was a private adoption through the Baptist Church. My mother was a Roman Catholic angry at the Catholic Church for not allowing her to enroll my sister in Catholic School because she was pregnant out of wedlock. The pastor who placed me was named Reverend Hayden. I was placed before I was even born. My mother was very poor and knew she could not provide for another baby on her salary alone. My father was to marry her, but the marriage never took place.
