I am looking for my birth mother. She would have been born in about 1931. She gave birth to me in Chicago, IL February 19, 1953 with Dr. Luella Nadelhoffer, and surrendered me to the Illinois Children's Home and Aid Society, from where I was adopted. From the little I have learned, she found herself pregnant by a somewhat older man who had just returned from military service. He had a strong temper and she did not wish to remain involved with him. I believe that she was in her junior year of college in the Midwest at the time. Her heritage was mainly English. She was 5'5" and weighed about 130 at the time. She was raised Catholic, but specified that I be placed in a non-Catholic home. She named me Sharon Laurence at birth, but I didn't discover this until I was 26. | |||||||||||||||||||||
