I am searching for my birthmother Ruth Helga Sauerzapf (AKA Giskes) migrated from Berlin in Nov.1954 from Bremerhaven to Melbourne and was married in Mackay Qld on January 8th 1955 to Raymond Giskes. I was born in Bethesda (a Salvation Army Hostel) in Rockhampton on 22nd May 1956 and given the name of Rita Bettina Giskes. I remained there and became a ward of the state after 10mths and was adopted out at age 18mts to George and Ruby McDonald. |
