I am a granddaughter to Rollie Cristopher Hill. He passed away in 1972 and we have lost most of the family that lived back east. I am in Oregon. My father says that his father was adopted by a foster family taking care of him and they gave him their family name. Now that I am trying to do the family genealogy I have no idea where to start to find more information about Grandpa Hill. He was born in Williamson County, De Soto, Ill. on September 22, 1886. He married Flora May Williams and they had seven children (two others passed away). I have a copy of his Social Security Act Application with everything in his own hand writing and someone has typed in that his father's name was "Bruce", his mother's name was "Ellen" but no last names for either one. At the time he filed this form he was living at: 35 South 5th Ave., Glendale AZ and worked for H. R. Meadows located at 2815 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix AZ. Any and all help will be appreciated.
