I am searching for my birth mother. Her name is or was Fern Nelson. I'm sure this was her maiden name and she likely was married and took her husband's name at some point in time. I was born in the hospital at Harvard, Illinois on September 20, 1956 and put up for adoption shortly thereafter. Fern Nelson and her family may have been from Wisconsin and worked with the Illinois Children's Services to put me up for adoption. Fern Nelson is probably in her late 60's or early 70's now, since I'm not sure how old she was when I was born, but from the few Illinois Children's Services records that were available, she was likely between 16 and 20 years old when I was born. I would like to have some family medical history, if possible, for me and for my own daughter.
