Genealogist FYI -WELCH AND BONE Nebraska families 1880 -This document was found in the Nebr State Historical Society Archives-Governor Nance Collection, RG1, SG12, S1, Folder 11- Nebraska City, Nebraska:"This agreement made this 16th day of February 1880 between Joseph F. Welch of the first part and George E. Bone and Richard J. Bone of the second part, Witnesseth that: Whereas Emily J. Welch the daughter of said Joseph F. Welch is now pregnant with a child and said Richard J. Bone is the son of George E. Bone is the father of said child. Now then the said George E. Bone further of said Richard J. Bone hereby agrees to take the said Emily J. Welch to Omaha, Nebraska, at his own expenses and then furnish for said Emily J. Welch good and sufficient lodging and board from this day, and during her confinement of said child and until she is fully recovered from her paid sickness, and to furnish the same at his own expense and in a manner satisfactory to the said Emily J. Welch and the said George E. Bone agrees to furnish the said Emily J. Welch all her necessary lying in expenses to furnish her good medical attendance during said time, and good competent nursing during her said sick ness, all of which attendance is to be approved by and be satisfing to said Emily J. Welch as aforesaid; and the said George E. Bone hereby further agrees to take the child, that shall be born to said Emily J. Welch, of which she is now pregnant and of which the said Richard J. Bone is the father, if alive, from its birth and take good care and support the same until it is ten years old and if said child should be stillborn or die, the said George E. Bone is to bury the same at his own expenses all of which doings are to be satisfactory to the said Emily J. Welch. And the said George E. bone also agrees to pay the expenses of said Emily J. Welch after her said sickness from Omaha to Nebraska City, Nebraska. And the said Joseph F. Welch party of the first part, inconsideration of the performance of the aforesaid covenants and agreements, and of the sum of Twentyfive Dollars in hand paid by said George E. Bone, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged covenants and agrees with the said George E. Bone and Richard J. Bone to accept the same as full payment of all damages accruing to him by reason of the seduction, pregnancy and sickness of his said daughter Emily J. Welch and hereby agrees to release the said Richard J. Bone from all responsibility as the father of said child, of which the said Emily J. Welch is now pregnant; always providing that if the said Emily J. Welch should not be satisfied with the performance of the covenants after said agreement as aforesaid, that then this agreement shall be of no binding effect, be be void and null. And to the performance of this agreement we hereby bind ourselves and our heirs. Witness our hands this 116th day of February 1880. G.E. Bone, R.J.
