Adoption records for my late mother. DORIS KATHLEEN REID.
She was born in Christchurch in 1912 and apparently fostered by Robert and Annie Reid (nee Bonnyman). We always believed that she was born to them but another foster child told us after mums death that our mother was also a foster child that the Reids 'kept'. Her name was Doris Kathleen Reid (married Walter Harrison) Her birth certificate is incomplete and only gives the ages of her parents as 'about' xx. This adds to the mystery |
