My father's birth parents. My father was born 12.03.1934 in Lower Hutt. His adoptive name is Robert Oscar Callesen. He was adopted when he was about 18-24 months. We belive that his birth mother fell in love with another man whilst dad's bith father was at war. His birth mother gave him up for adoption as the new partner did not want my father as part of the relationship. He was adopted by Mabel and Oscar Callesen from Palmerston North. His adoptive father was a steam train driver. There is some talk that his birth father's surname may have been Pepper, and that his mother eventually lived in Auckland and owned/worked in a bottle shop in Panmure???
