My half uncle, Arthur Ronald Coulson Ball, was born 19 May 1940 in Preston, Lancashire, England. As far as I know, he was illegitimate and I do not know what happened to his father, an Arthur Ball, a fireman in WW2. His mother, my grandmother, died in 1945 and my mother, his sister, put him in a home, from where, I understand, he was adopted by a couple from Canada. This would have been about 1946 or 1947, before I was born. I have only recently found out about Arthur's birth although my mother died in 2000. My mother had another full brother, who was young at the time but very reluctantly confirmed the situation, as far as he knew. I cannot provide any description of Arthur and I do not think any photographs were taken of him, none that I am aware of in any case. | |||||||||||||||||||||
