Surname(s):

BARTRAM : HUGHES : SANDERS : SAUNDERS : WORLEY

Query Text:

I allowed my son to be adopted in Louisville, KY. I stayed at the Salvation Army Booth Home for unwed mothers. My son was born on April 1, 1970. Jefferson County placed him in a home with one older sibling. I named him Andrew Hughes. My name was Mary Beth Hughes. I was a student nurse from Indianapolis, Ind. Andrew's father was Gary Sanders from El Monte, CA. He was a manager of a grocery store and a civic group(possibly Kiwanis). We met at a party and I was attracted to him. I called him to tell him I was pregnant, but I do not think he believed he was Andrew's father. He was divorced at the time and seemed lonely. I had just broken up with someone before I met him. He was warm, friendly, a really nice guy. It was very painful to give up Andrew. Andrew, you were very wanted by me. Giving you to a family was one of the most difficult things I ever had done. I had no resources to keep you with me. I called the adoption services in Louisville, KY several times, but they would not tell me anything about you and told me that they would never reveal anything about your welfare. I would like to know that you are okay.
