In 1907, a mother could not take care of her four children and the county removed three of them to the Francis Comfort Thomas home. They were Raymond Jakie Oltman (born 1897), Flossie Pearl Shipley (born 1902), and George William Shipley (born September 14, 1904). Their sister, Ora Grace Shipley (born May 13, 1906). Pearl became a servant of the Glickman family and then married. Raymond moved back in with and helped support his mother. Any information about what became of the children, especially George William Shipley (if was adopted) would be appreciated. |
