I am searching for Helena Florence Smith and/or daughter Maureen Smith. Last known address in 1940's was 12 Nyke Ave., Ash, Surrey, U.K. Helena's mother was Mrs. F.K. Smith. This is the only information I have. Helena worked in an army canteen during the war at Camp Aldershot. She met and fell in love with a Canadian Soldier from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada - Romeo Lauzon - and had a daughter Jeanette with him - b Jan 30/46. She sailed from South Hampton in Aug/47 to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and travelled to Cornwall, where she left Jeanette with her birth father and then sailed back to U.K. with Maureen. If anyone has any information on Helena or Maureen, please e-mail me. I have been searching for a very long time on behalf of Jeanette who is anxious to see either her mother Helena or Maureen again.
