Fayette VanLinder, adopted in Alpena, Michigan, August 1922, as William Joseph Holmes by Leander A and Agnes B Holmes; born September 10, 1916, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Looking for my mother's only birth sibling or anyone in his family. His name at birth was Fayette Van Linder, however it was completely changed at adoption to William Joseph Holmes. He was five years old when he was adopted. It appears they may have moved to St. Louis, MO, prior to 1930 census. Both parents are buried in St. Louis, and he inherited their house adjacent to St. Louis University, where his father work in the building maintenance department. Birth parents: Clinton H. Van Linder, Ida Florence Colton. My mother (born Florence Clara Van Linder) is 89 years old and would like to know what happened to him.
