My name is Novia LaBranche and I was born to Anatolie LaBranche and Hosea Benony in Nassau Bahamas. As was my sister, Deborah Benony. I need help locating my natural mother or any surviving siblings she may have. I am adopted. On September 16, 2003, I solicited the help of the Archives in the Bahamas. On December 2, 2003 I received information from Patrice M. Williams regarding my mother. Patrice found the Medical Certificate of the Cause of Death for my mother, Anatolie LaBrance. She was 28 years of age and reportedly died on 13 May 1968 at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau Bahamas. Patrice also told me the back of my mother's death certificate indicates that her husband's name was Hosea LaBranche. My mother was originally from Sainte Suzanne, Haiti, According to the death certificate she was 28 when she died, which would make her birth year 1940. My uncle once told me she was born in February. She is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Nassau. Because my mother was a Haitian National, it would be difficult for her to find any more information on her. Patrice asked me to write to the National Archives of Haiti where you may be able to assist me. To date, I have not received a reply.
