Susan Josephine Garcia born August 22, 1934 in Offerley, Kansas. She is of Meican decent. Residence at time of pregnancy 213 S. Monroe st. Hutchinson. Baby boy born at Booth Memorial Hospital Feb 17, 1958 was named Mark Eugene Garcia. Susan stayed at the maternity home there throughout her pregnancy. She told no one of her condition except the father. The father was Tony Gonzales he was 27 at the time. He worked at Boeing in Wichita as an inspector. He had also been in the Navy for 3 years. She was 23 at the time and lived with her mother and younger sister. She was the second to youngest of 8 girls. Three of them were already dead at that time. Two died from TB and the other of a heart condition. The other sisters were already married off and not living in the home. Her father died in 1940 of a heart attack. He worked for the rail road. Susan's mother received a small pension. Her mother also took in ironing and washing on the side for extra income. Susan left school after completing the 8th grade because the family needed help from her with income. Susan worked in a hospital kitchen in Hutchinson until she was old enough. Then she started working at St. Elizabeth's Hospital as a nurses aid. After the birth of her baby she returned to St. Elizabeth. My name was changed to Robert Louis Neu when I was Adopted.
