Baby girl born in Peoria, IL 12/20/1953 at St. Francis Hospital. I was born prematurely and weighed 2lb3 10 ozs. I was kept in the hospital for about three months and then went to the Schlarman Children's Home (I was called Judy) in Peoria where I stayed until I was placed for adoption in August of 1954. Adoption was handled by Catholic Social Services and finalized in Rock Island, IL. I grew up in East Moline.I'm told that my Birth Mom was 27 when I was born,Catholic and single. Also that she was a manager for a "magazine clothing company". From what I can now see, I think she was under pressure to surrender me for adoption.
