Looking for more info on the birth of MARY TITUS born 9-27-1803 in W. Stewartstown, NH, married DAVID HODGE 11-23-1827 in W.Stewartstown,NH. She died 2-23-1896 in E.Hereford, Quebec. I was told that Mary was Native American (Abenaki) and ADOPTED by DAVID TITUS b.1769 in Bath or Landaff, NH, d 10-19-1843 in Colebrook,NH and MARY NOYES b.1768 in Landaff,NH, d.12-29-1840 in Colebrook NH(?). I need to find MARY TITUS's birth and marriage records and any info that anyone might have on her ADOPTION and her biological Native American parents. Also, would anyone know what procedure was involved for white families to ADOPT Native American children in the early 1800's in NH? Thank you, Pauline
